Passport Agent   (Part-time)

The Manheim Township Public Library is a Certified Passport Acceptance Agency and provides the public with passport application services.  We are looking for a part-time agent (up to 28 hours per week).
Description of Duties
·        Corresponds with applicants regarding passport decisions, providing needed information prior to making appointment.
·        Schedules appointments and provides walk-in service for application acceptance.
·        Inspects citizenship documentation and passport applications to determine validity.
·        Assures completeness of required documentation and information.
·        Detects fraudulent documents.
·        Possesses exceptional skill at passport application evaluation and adjudication.
·        Completes extensive on-the-job and classroom passport specialist training.
·        Passport acceptance experience preferred.

  • Ability to learn State Department regulations and rules regarding issuance of passports

  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to work on a team and report to senior Passport Specialists
  •    Must pass a criminal background clearance, child abuse history check and FBI fingerprinting.

Fundraising Coordinator  (Part-time)

Creates strategies for and implements initiatives to meet the Library’s fundraising, outreach, communications, and promotional needs via a variety of venues including print and online publications, websites, digital signage, email, social media, displays, events, and person-to-person contact. This position requires an enthusiastic, warm and friendly professional who understands the mission of a public library and demonstrates passion for the Library’s vision to be the heart of the community.  (20 hours per week)

Skills, knowledge, and ability:  Must be outgoing and sociable, and have a comprehensive knowledge of:
o     Fundraising
o     Public relations/media relations
o     Writing press releases, media alerts
o     Event planning
Additional knowledge and experience:
o     Experience with marketing via a variety of social media channels, particularly YouTube and Facebook.
o     Experience in developing, implementing, and assessing successful marketing strategies
o     Some grant-writing experience preferred
o     A strong design sense necessary
o     Must have knowledge of and experience with Word, Excel, Publisher and other publishing tools
o     Must possess a valid driver’s license and have good driving record
o     Must pass a criminal background clearance, child abuse history check and FBI fingerprinting.

Volunteers always appreciated!
